Privacy & data practices

What we process, where it comes from, and how to have it corrected or removed.

Data about our subscribers

For people who create an account we process the name, email, company, trade and service preferences, saved opportunities, pipeline notes, and billing status needed to operate the service. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never store card details. We do not sell subscriber data.

Usage and technical data

We also process the operational data the application actually generates:

  • account and login activity, including sign-in events and session state;
  • feature usage, such as searches, filters, and opportunities you open;
  • saved and pipeline actions, including stage changes, notes, and follow-up dates;
  • email delivery records for briefings you have enabled;
  • device, browser, and technical log data produced by our hosting and database providers, such as IP address, user agent, and request timing;
  • diagnostic and security information, such as error reports and abuse-prevention logs.

This data is used to operate, secure, support, and improve the service — not to build profiles of private individuals.

Data about businesses and projects

Project intelligence is derived from records that government agencies publish, such as Metro Nashville building permits. Every record stores the publishing agency, the dataset name, the source record identifier, and the date it was retrieved. Re-scoring or re-classifying a record never changes its original retrieval date.

Third-party research and enrichment data

We may obtain business or professional information — such as a company website, main office line, published business email, or the name and role of a business contact — from third-party research, enrichment, and data services, as well as from publicly available business material. Information obtained this way is classified before it can be shown, using the same rules described below, and anything that appears personal or lacks verifiable provenance is withheld.

Contact information and how it is classified

Every contact detail is classified before it can be shown:

  • Business contact — a named person at a company, sourced from company or business material.
  • Licensed professional record — a person named on a government or licensing record.
  • Company general contact — a main line, general inbox, or contact form.
  • Personal contact — information that appears to belong to a private individual. This is never displayed.
  • Unclassified — provenance could not be established. This is never displayed.

A contact detail is only shown when we can name its source and it classifies as business-related. Anything else is withheld even if a data provider returned it.

Derived information

Your Market Signal generates its own analysis from the underlying records. Derived outputs include project classifications, project quality scores, trade relevance estimates, opportunity scores, buying-window estimates, recommended actions, and other market-intelligence outputs. These are produced by transparent weighted rules applied to the source data.

Derived outputs are estimates, not statements of fact about any person or business. They may change as additional information becomes available, as records are amended at their source, or as our models are updated. They are not predictions or guarantees of any outcome, and they are never used for consumer eligibility decisions of any kind.

Legal basis and purpose

We process business-related public-record information for the legitimate business interest of helping trade contractors and suppliers identify commercial projects in their market. We do not build profiles of private individuals, and we do not use this information for consumer eligibility decisions of any kind.

Retention

Public-record intelligence is retained while it is commercially relevant to subscribers. Records removed at their source are aged out of the active feed. Contact details that fail the classification rules above are not retained for display.

Your choices

Anyone can ask us to correct, update, or remove information shown about them or their company using the correction and removal form. Every request is reviewed by a person and logged with its outcome. Removal of personal contact information is honoured; where the underlying government record itself is inaccurate, we will point you to the publishing agency, since they remain the source of record. Subscribers can request access to or deletion of their own account data at any time.

Sub-processors

We use service providers for hosting and databases, payments (Stripe), email delivery, and contact research. Providers are used only to operate the service and are bound to process data on our instructions.
